Abstract

The role of didactics in higher education has transformed significantly in recent decades, especially in light of the new demands of the 21st century. Didactics, which historically has always played a fundamental role in structuring teaching, now needs to be seen from new perspectives, driven by technological advances, social changes and emerging learning needs. The focus is no longer limited to the simple transmission of content, but expands to include the development of critical and reflective skills in students. Active methodologies, for example, have gained prominence for promoting student protagonism in the teaching-learning process. Furthermore, the integration of digital resources in the academic environment brings new challenges and opportunities for teachers and students. Higher education, therefore, requires a didactic approach that adapts to constant changes, both in the technological sphere and in interpersonal relationships. This new teaching paradigm requires teachers to review their pedagogical practices, adopting methods that encourage interaction, collaboration and the active construction of knowledge. Didactics, in this context, is not just a means of instruction, but an essential tool for the comprehensive training of students in the 21st century. The quality of higher education is directly related to the effectiveness of the teaching practices adopted, and it is essential that institutions remain attentive to new trends and needs of the market and society.
