Automated stock management via RFID in PMPR: benefits and innovations

Abstract

This scientific article aims to analyze the feasibility of implementing Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology in the material control and management of the Military Police of Paraná (PMPR), aiming to modernize the loading, unloading, and inventory processes and, consequently, optimize the oversight of critical and controlled items. The research, exploratory in nature with a mixed-methods approach, was based on a bibliographic analysis of constitutional, legal, and administrative elements pertinent to the PMPR. The study demonstrated that the RFID system emerges as a solution for automated verification, replacing manual procedures and physical forms with a control system that ensures real-time traceability, reduction of human error, and the preservation of public assets. It is concluded that the adoption of RFID technology represents a low-cost, high-impact alternative, fully aligned with the constitutional principles of Efficiency, Morality, and Publicity. The implementation not only modernizes the PMPR’s logistics management, inserting it into the Logistics 4.0 paradigm, but also allows for the strategic redirection of human resources to the Corporation's core activities.
