Impact of Burnout Syndrome on nursing professionals

Burnout Syndrome constitutes a significant occupational health problem among nursing professionals, associated with work overload and adverse working conditions. This study aimed to describe data related to signs compatible with the syndrome and its relationship with sociodemographic and occupational factors in the context of health services. It was conducted with 20 nursing professionals working in the adult Intensive Care Unit of the Alzira Velano University Hospital, in Alfenas, Minas Gerais. Data collection was carried out through an online questionnaire (Google Forms), including sociodemographic variables, occupational aspects, and the use of digital technologies in the workplace, in addition to the application of the Oldenburg Burnout Inventory to assess the dimensions of exhaustion and disengagement. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of Unifenas. The data were organized through grouping and analyzed descriptively, allowing the presentation of working conditions, occupational workload, and aspects associated with the participants’ work context. It is concluded that the findings contribute to understanding the nursing work context and reinforce the importance of attention to workers’ health.
